A Trip to Great-Grandmom's House
We drove up to NJ on the 13th because the family was cleaning out and sorting through E's grandmother and grandfather's house. E's grandmother is living in an assisted living place now and making lots of friends and enjoying art, playing the piano, and meeting new people. E's grandfather passed away several years ago and I never got to meet him. But from what I've heard about him, E possesses many of his wonderful qualities particularly the handyman qualities.
Anyway, they wanted Grandmond (Karen-E's mom) to join in on the sorting through of all the items in the house. So, we loaded up in the minivan and made the trip up there. It was 3 hours so it was a pretty quick trip.
We took tons of pictures! It was so wonderful for Evan (especially) and me to see our children running around at his grandmother's house. E's grandfather built this house himself so it's really neat to walk through and see all the personal touches he added.
It was sort of a rainy weekend so they didn't get a chance to get outside too much but thankfully enough to get some pics.
Playing outside that first day-
Playing in the living room-
Miss A checking out the beds-
Playing outside the second day for a few minutes before the rain started-
E showing A how to play Zim Zam. Great-Grandmom and Jeff are in the back watching-
FJ wanted to try and grabbed a paddle-
The kiddos following Great-Grandmom out of the living room-
Great-Grandmom, Grandmond holding FJ, and Aunt Sharon-
Kids hanging out...FJ has some sort of toy in his mouth-
The ladies holding Miss A-
Still insisting on sleeping in Mama and Daddy's bed for the night-
Now, she's in her cot-
Breakfast time in the breakfast nook-
Checking out the cot and this vintage Happy Apple that we got to take home-
Hanging out in the pack and play where he slept at night-
Lunch-
Playing-
Playing some tunes-
Running on the path in their backyard-
Chillin' in the sunroom/porch-
Family photo in front of the house-
E took a photo of me on the same porch back in Nov. of 2004 before we were married. (Unfortunately, I don't think we took a photo of the 2 of us on the porch back then. )
Here's another pic we took of her house in 2004:
And a pic of us pre-marriage and pre-children in the backyard-
