Walking!!!! (A Belated Update)
I know I haven't blogged in a while. Sorry. But just in case anyone was worried...our little man is walking! The catalyst was a trip to NJ the first weekend of Feb. for E's grandmom's 90th birthday party. While we were there, FJ took advantage of all the space and just took off with his walking. He had shown more interest in it in the days leading up to the trip so I guess the extra space was just what he needed. Since we have returned he has been walking about 90% of the time. He only crawls when he is super tired or when he wants to get somewhere super fast. But he's really fast with walking so he chooses that mode of transportation instead. Phew! We are thrilled and very happy for our little guy. Thanking God for this wonderful milestone.

Hilarious But Gross
Tonight Miss A tells me:
"Sometimes i put my finger in my bum in my room and then i smell my finger and it's stinky."
I am sure it is...i am sure it is...

16 Months Old!
Our FJ is 16 months old today!
I took him in last week to the doc because he got a fever at the end of a cold. Turns out it was from the DTAP and Polio vaccine I had him get the day before during Miss A's 3 year check up.
Anywho, they weighed him with clothes on and a dry diaper and he weighed 20 lbs, 14 oz. That's a huge jump from last month (19 lbs, 7 oz.) so I am sure his clothing had something to do with it. But I will choose to think it's because he hasn't had a stomach virus since the first week of January.
His height: will fill in later
His head: will fill in later
He's saying some new words such as:
Cracker which sounds like "Gack-ew"
Cheese which sounds like "Shees"
"Night-Night" while holding his lovey and laying his head down
He's made lots of progress since last month regarding walking and standing. He is standing so much more on his own now, squatting and picking up things and then standing back up again.
He's also choosing to walk a lot more now. I say choosing because you can see that it is a choice...he chooses to still crawl when he wants to get somewhere really quickly. He will also walk while holding something in his hands.
He likes to push his sister in the doll stroller...seriously...best.purchase.ever...$9.99 at Target for Christmas 2009!
He just discovered that his sister can push him in it too and he's been wondering why we've all been holding out on him!
He loves to play with his big sister-
And she loves to play with him too! (Although sometimes it borders on bothering him.)
So, I have confidence that he will be fully walking by 18 months which is in 2 months...I can't believe he will be 1 1/2 in 2 months!

The Birthday Day
So, on Miss A's actual birthday, she woke up and opened a present from us and had a delicious confetti pancake that she decorated with sprinkles. She is wearing Cars pajamas that her great-grandpa (Poppy) gave her for her birthday. She knows they are boy pj's but she loves them! She wanted to wear them that night. She's never really seen Cars...only bits and pieces but these are a new fave for her. Who knew? She looks so adorable in them.
Having milk together-
Opening one of her presents-
I ordered her this cute chalk mat from Etsy.com:. (I've got to learn how to make these.)
For lunch, we met Daddy at Moe's and had a nice birthday lunch. It was a treat getting to have lunch with him!
I bought her a cupcake from the Wegman's bakery so she would have a cupcake for her actual birthday so here she is enjoying it after dinner-
We ordered her a new bath towel with her name on it from PBK and a new pillow with two new pillow cases in green polka dot and pink polka dot. But because of the 8 inches of snow we got last week it ran very late arriving and didn't arrive till this week. No worries though because it was a surprise and she loves all of it.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Miss A!!!
One
Two
3!
Oh yes-the pink tutu purchased for her first birthday still fits. It gets worn often for Halloween and whenever she wants to wear it but it had to be worn for her birthday too! (If you are wondering, the size is 12-24 months and was purchased at Babies R Us 2 years ago.)
Our little lady turned 3 on Jan. 25th and she had her 3 year check up that same week.
She is now a whopping 30 pounds which puts her in the 40th percentile for weight! We don't know what to do with ourselves being in the 40th percentile! :-) She is 35 3/4 inches tall which is the 25th percentile. Or maybe I have those percentiles switched around...I can't remember...it's hard to remember all that stuff or even write it down when you are also wrangling a 16 month old little boy.
She's doing what most 3 year olds are doing-
She draws faces, draws circles, sings ABCD, can recognize many letters and knows her colors...most of the time! She usually says "dark" if you ask her to identify brown or black.
She can count up to and over 12. Does she occasionally put in a random number? Of course!
She loves to ask us "What's your idea?" daily.
She enjoys reading a book and a Bible story each night and we always have to sing a song and pray.
She hugs us and says "awww" when we pray for her at night.
She has chosen to pray on her own when someone we know is sick.
She's dressing herself completely in the morning...she could do this for a while but I have not been insisting she do it all on her own until now.
She wears a size 7.5 shoe and is now wearing 3T.
We decided to throw a very simple, small party for her at Chick Fil A. It was so cheap and we knew she would love having it there.(Just FYI-if you do decide to pick a fast food restaurant for your child's party, call the day before to make sure they have your reservations. If you don't, then you may show up and they may have to quickly put all the decorations up in a hurry...not that that happened to us or anything!)
I made her cupcakes and let her pick out the flavor. She picked strawberry cake and pink icing.
My dear husband actually iced the cupcakes for me the morning of the party. Some had flower candies on them and some had sprinkles on them. I didn't think to get a good photo of all the cupcakes together so you will see just a couple of pics of her cupcake that she ate and the last one with sprinkles.
Having lunch and showing her brother her book from her kids meal-
Enjoying some apple juice-
Another good friend-P, he shares a birthday with E!
Laurie and Kaylie-
Z-Miss A's cosmic twin-
M-she turned 3 in October-
The whole party-
Tiff and J-
E taking A to meet the cow-
Getting ready to eat her cupcake-
Tasting it-
Of course being the second child, he gets a cupcake too...yes he gets a little more sugar than this sister used to get-
Hilarious photo of Dan, Tiff's husband, standing in the play area holding Miss A's balloon-
The 4 of us...why does my husband always look flawless in every photo yet I have twenty one chins??
Here's a pic of the last cupcake that we brought back home...there were really about 4 leftover but I finally thought to take a pic before we ate the last one-
A pic of the invitation...I blurred out the personal details-
Opening presents at home-
Grandmond came over to visit before we went out to eat with the family for a birthday dinner with Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Earl, cousin M, Great-Grandpa/Poppy, and Aunt Kate at Red Robin-
Sitting with Aunt Kate, enjoying her birthday ice cream.
Aunt Kate, Miss A, and cousin, M-
FJ trying to get some of that ice cream...yes he got a small bite too.
Miss A's shirt came from Etsy.com from a shop called Fancy Schmancy. I definitely recommend them.
Happy 3rd Birthday to our dear daughter! We feel so blessed that God chose us to be your parents and chose to give you to us to raise. Our hearts and lives are so full with you in it. You bring us laughter and giggles and sugar overload dances and singing and wonder and energy.
We love talking to you and reading to you and praying with you. We love your hugs and kisses.
You are most definitely our princess!
