Louisiana...here we come!

Miss A and I will be flying to Louisiana to visit family and friends this Tuesday and will be there till the 31st. Evan has two business trips during this time so we thought it was the perfect time for A and me to fly home...that way we aren't home alone during that time! :-)
I am anxious about flying solo with an almost 18-month old toddler and I asked for prayers and advice from my church's moms group. They have all been so supportive and wonderful! Two different moms let me borrow their portable DVD players and another mom is bringing me a "goody bag" of fun things to entertain A on the plane. I also bought her a new book and did a book borrowing/exchange with my neighbor/friend who was leaving for a trip to Connecticut on Saturday. We figured we might as well trade some books that our girls aren't reading much so they have a new variety for the trip. Then we will just trade back when we return!
I am looking forward to just being in my hometown again and just being around family and friends...even if it will be a lot hotter there than it has been here in VA. We will be staying with my brother, sis-in-law, and my 3 year old nephew. Miss A and her cousin will have such a good time hanging out and playing...I can't wait to see them together!
My mom can't wait to see A! She's such a wonderful grandmother and loves to give Miss A "sugars" and hold her and play with her. My mom is just a natural at being a grandma; she just listens to her instincts and all the things she learned raising two children have come right back to her.
I haven't been home since December so it will be wonderful to be home again although I will miss E tons! This will be the longest time that he and I have been apart and the longest he has been apart from Miss A. He said A will probably look bigger when he sees her again and I mentioned that my belly will also look bigger as I will be in the third trimester by then!
So dear readers, I ask for your prayers that A will do fabulously on the plane rides to Louisiana. We have a flight from here to Dallas and then from Dallas to Shreveport. Yes, she has flown before...she flew 12 times during her first year of life but I've never flown with her by myself and pregnant! Plus, she is a walking toddler now with a big opinion...a little different from December when she couldn't walk yet or voice her opinion as much or as loudly!

Cape May Beach Vacation

Our beach vacation was so nice and we had such wonderful weather. We had plenty of people there to help out with Audrey so Evan and I had time to relax a bit while we were there too. We even had a date night courtesy of Aunt Sharon and Uncle Rob! They are so thoughtful!

Audrey enjoyed the ocean so much. The first day she was a little hesitant in the water and didn't really like it but loved the sand. But by the second and third day we went, she loved the water so much that she wanted to let go of our hands and take off into the ocean!

She also liked tasting the sand and after I finally let her put some in her mouth, she decided that it didn't taste as good as it looked. (She, of course, had to taste the dry sand and the wet sand in case they tasted any differently.)

Audrey had her 6th tooth come in on July 4th! It's another incisor and it's on the bottom.
Our 4th of July was fun and laidback. We had a cookout at the house there and that night while Audrey slept at the house and one of the family members stayed behind to watch her, the rest of us went to the the beach and watched the fireworks that were being displayed from a barge on the ocean. It was incredible!

On a side note: we had some great "potty successes" while we were there. When we got to the house, I began to change Audrey's diaper but she made the potty sign. So, I took her in and put her on the big potty and she went! What a shock but a pleasant one! We had other similar success throughout the week but now that we are back she likes to make the potty sign all the time. She is starting to use it as a way to get out of the crib or highchair....smart little lady but we are catching on!

As for our little guy...I have been feeling him move so much! He really likes to kick me in the bladder and loves moving around once I lay down. Evan has been able to feel him move too so that's been awesome. I am 6 months now and my belly button has definitely popped!

Miss A in the rain

I mentioned this video a few posts ago and I am finally uploading it (with help from our friend, Doug).
I wrote the directions down this time though so I will be able to do this all on my own now! (I just didn't know how to make the video small enough so it didn't take a whole day to upload to blogger.)
This is Miss A playing in the rain on our front step...this was done on Memorial Day...the same day as the pics we took of her in the sprinkler in the backyard.

3 Quick Vacation Pictures

Audrey at the Cape May Zoo wearing her "Audrey" clip that I ordered online from Briar Claire at etsy.com and then sadly lost in the house at Cape May.

These are just 3 quick pics to put up before I get to do a full post of pics. Our camera battery is dead and the charger is missing so I don't know when I will get to post pics!
