10 in 10 Wrap-Up

Well, the 10 in 10 is coming to a close. It's been 10 weeks since New Year's Day and almost 10 weeks since I did my first post about the 10 in 10. We won't be around this weekend for me to post an update...we will be away celebrating our 5th anniversary...so now's the time!

I have successfully met almost all of my goals!!!!

-I got under the 1_0 mark on the scale.
-I now weigh below what I did when I weighed at my 6 week prenatal appointment!!!
-I lost the first 5 pounds I wanted to lose and 1 extra pound too!
-I fit into ALL my pre-pregnancy jeans now AND they aren't tight or uncomfortable either!! Yay!!!
-I feel more fit and have more stamina.

For the goals I did not complete-
-I finished the 30 Day Challenge on the EA Sports Workout game in 45 days due to an unforeseen cold and other circumstances (none of them really good excuses though)!

-I said I wanted to lose 5 more pounds (for a total of 10) but in actuality-I'd actually like to lose just 3 more pounds to get to the weight I was before I got pregnant with our baby boy. If I lose the 2 other pounds, that will probably get me to my pre-Miss A weight.

-I'd also like to tighten up my abs. I bought the next EA Sports game called More Workouts and it has abdominal workouts on it so I have already started the 6 week challenge on it. I have 5 weeks left and I hope that by the end of the 5 weeks, my abs are tighter!

Dinners, Brunches, and Crafts

For E's birthday, we went out to dinner that night. We kept it simple and easy and went to Red Robin. It was so nice going out to eat during the week and not having to worry about cooking. We took some pics while we were there-

Can you tell in the picture above how much hair F has lost? There's a bunch of fuzz growing back in though so maybe he won't be bald for too long.
The weekend after E's birthday, his dad took us out to brunch at the Silver Diner on that Saturday but I didn't take any pics. That Sunday, E's mom took us out to brunch at Tuscarora Mill. We love that place but we usually only get there once a year...usually for E's birthday!
First, E's mom came by and did a craft with Miss A. She planned it and brought all the materials. Miss A enjoyed it!

Then they played for a little while and that was when Miss A decided the crown was finally cool enough to be worn-

At brunch, baby F fell asleep while we ate and once again Miss A got to eat some of E's birthday ice cream-

Purim

My friend, Carrie, had a Purim party at her house the last Sunday in February. After doing a Beth Moore study on the book of Esther a year ago, she had been wanting to throw a Purim party. Miss A got to dress up as a princess and she finally wore her crown we made her! She had actually worn it earlier in the day when her grandma was here at our house.  Baby F went was dressed as a baseball player.

5 Months

Our little man is 5 months old! (Yes, this post is a little delayed but I've taken a break from getting on the computer in the evening so posts are coming much further apart these days.)

He weighs 14 pounds and is 25 1/2 inches long. His head measurement is 43 cm.
He's lost lots of hair but has been quickly growing it back.
He rolls over from his belly to his back by pulling his knees up under himself.

This has caused sleep problems for him though because he gets on his back and then he is stuck! He doesn't know how to roll from his back to his belly yet and thus, he is like a turtle just laying there waiting for someone to come and roll him back over. It makes for many sleepless nights....
Speaking of sleepless nights...remember how he was sleeping through the night? Well, that lasted about a week and ended abruptly. Now, he's back to waking every 3 hours to feed. After desperation for sleep, I even tried having E give him a bottle of formula at night and that still didn't work.
I even tried starting him on oatmeal cereal and that also did nothing for his sleep but it did give us some really cute pics-

Miss A had been entertaining him lots these days which makes it nice for me if I need to get some cooking or cleaning done...here are some snapshots of her entertaining him-

Miss A enjoys walking around with this bucket on her head and it becomes quite the comical thing to watch her try to walk around in it-

I put him in a pair of shoes recently one Sunday. These shoes were a gift from my friend, Ashley. The outfit he is in is from his great-grandpa (Poppy).

F's cries have become more audible and puts up quite a fuss if he's hungry and I try to give him his paci instead. He has also found his thumb (can't remember if I mentioned that before now). He uses his thumb when he is sleeping to soothe himself. While some may worry when their children suck their thumb, I am completely happy that he has found his and uses it help himself get back to sleep.
He's still drooling lots and it makes me wonder if he will cut any teeth any time soon. He's not spitting up as much now that he is on Prevacid so I am hoping his reflux will soon be under control.

Oh and if you are wondering...yes there is Irish in my family...on my mom's father's side...it's a mix of Irish/Scottish. As many of you know-F's name is Irish and his hair has a nice reddish tone to it (what's left of it anyway) and his skin is fair like mine. So, he does quite embody the saying on the back of his romper.

Miss A has a fever that she came down with last night...she doesn't really have any other symptoms. She is quite fussy and clingy though and doesn't have much of an appetite. She's napping now and I am hoping she will take a good, restful nap.
