Much Ado About Candy

Our littlest one was very independent this night...carrying her own little Halloween basket and walking herself to each house.

The Halloween Post

The weekend was full of Halloween fun. We had a Halloween playdate on Friday that I co-hosted with my friend, Carrie, at her house. It was for our moms group and it was a blast. We had chili and snacks and read The Pumpkin Gospel. From the description from Amazon, it's a book about "Carving a pumpkin can teach your entire family how God transforms us into beautiful new creations to shine for him!" The photo in my header was taken by my friend, Lindsley, at the playdate. She set up that wagon in the backyard and took fabulous pics.

Saturday we (meaning E) carved one of our pumpkins and Miss A and I sorted the seeds so I could roast them later. This was the first time for Miss A to see a pumpkin carved. We printed out a free template from the internet for our pumpkin face. Oh and E and I did not mean to wear matching shirts that day...

That night we went to a Trunk-or-Treat at a neighborhood church.  Miss A made me eat my words and she actually rode a ride with her daddy! She had such a fun time riding...E said she was laughing the whole time. She walked around to different cars and said "trick or treat" or rather E carried her around to each car. She decided she wanted to dress as a ballerina that evening so that is what she went as-

On actual Halloween, she also wanted to be a ballerina at first. So she set up these poses herself and I snapped some photos-

Then that evening we had our neighborhood friends over for appetizers before the kids went out trick or treating...so we got the house decorated-

Then when our friends were here, Miss A decided she wanted to be Huffalump again once she saw her friend, P, in his Nemo costume...so we threw on Lumpy over her ballerina outfit sans the tutu and walked over to the neighborhood clubhouse with our friends and got some glowsticks and goodie bags and then went trick-or-treating-

I hope everyone else enjoyed Halloween and to all my bloggy friends-I've enjoyed looking at your Halloween pics too!

Pumpkin Pickin'

A couple of weekends ago we went to the Reston Farm Market to pick out some pumpkins. We took my mom in law with us and she brought along her camera so we got some cute pics.
They had a face painting station there but Miss A did not want any part of that. We paid $2 for her to jump on the moon bounces and she barely got past the entry point and would only jump if we held on to her...she is so cautious!

E checking out a pig...Miss A is looking at the moon bounce...you can see the "unsure" look in her eyes-

Sitting with the pumpkins we picked out-

Here's a good photo of me holding on to Miss A while she jumped...she would not get into the main part of the moon bounce no matter what we tried...she even had the whole thing to herself!

 FJ getting tired...
